GOTG Season 2 wrap up.

I've been working on Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy animated series for the past year and I finally finished the last episode for season 2 earlier this week. After I finished the episode, prepped it for my mixer and eventually finishing the upload of my session to our FTP, I took a moment to appreciate what this past year has brought me in my career.

Exactly one year ago I started working with Bang Zoom Entertainment! and I was thrown into my first episode for GOTG. I was scared, nervous and out of my comfort zone. GOTG is a HUGE show! and I felt as though I bit off more than I could chew. But I remained positive and determined to prove to others (and myself) that I could rise to the challenge.

As my first episode was nearing final mix, I doubted myself and I didn't think that I would be able to live up to the amazing sound design that the previous sound designer (Justin Kohler) did. I could feel the pressure pouring on my shoulders and I knew that this was my moment to either sink or swim.

After the first GOTG episode I worked on mixed and the clients were happy I couldn't have been more proud of myself for finishing something that I thought I couldn't do. Justin Kohler was there to help smooth out the process of that day and we celebrated with some victory beers! It raised my confidence and fueled my passion for sound design!

Sometimes being thrown into the fire and seeing how you'll do is the only way you'll get to your next goal(s) in life. I'm grateful for being thrown into the fire because it helped push me and exceed what I thought I was capable of. Now (one year later) I'm ready for even BIGGER projects and even more challenges!
